Home EV charging planner

Explore daily energy and parking time with explicit assumptions. Initial values are hypothetical. Inputs stay in this browser; nothing is submitted. This planner does not select a safe charging setting, breaker, wire, or panel size.

Your planning assumptions

If a label or app figure already includes wall-energy losses, select supply energy to avoid adding losses twice.
90% is an example, not a tested rate.
Charging amps, not breaker sizes. Availability must be confirmed.
Use exact vehicle AC capability, not DC fast charging.
Example rate. Check the added-energy charges on your tariff.

Illustrative result

Supply energy for one day —

Assumed usable AC power —

Idealized replenishment time —

30 identical days: energy-only cost —

Actual managed charging can allocate less power. Weather, vehicle behavior, schedules, and other conditions can change replenishment time. The result describes daily energy, not a full-battery charge or an approved installation.

Calculation: miles × stated kWh/mile; divide by efficiency only for battery-energy input. Usable power is the lower of voltage × charging amps ÷ 1,000 and the vehicle AC limit. Time equals supply kWh ÷ usable kW. Costs exclude fixed bill charges and assume the entered rate applies to all added energy. Calculations use full precision; display values are rounded.
